1st post

Omaha Nebraska, home of the College World Series, Creighton Bluejays and not much else, except for me. I am Joe Kleinsmith (as the name implies) a high schooler at Creighton Prep High School here in Omaha that’s life comes down to about 3 things: Baseball (or any other sport), Politics and family and since you probably have better things to do than hear about my family I’ll only touch lightly on it here so I can stick to the former in the future.
Image result for congress            Just a little bit about me, I am the oldest of four and can’t say I enjoy being the oldest. Baseball runs deep in our family, my grandfather Gerry Kleinsmith played for the Detroit Tigers in the 1950’s. All of my uncles went and played at Creighton University and my Dad played at Nebraska-Omaha. I have become an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan now that my cousin plays for them rounding off the baseball in our family. I play for Creighton Prep as a pitcher following in the footsteps on the rest of my family who all played the position.
Moving on from Baseball my other hobby is politics and debate (my parents would say my true love is arguing). I do congressional debate and currently am 5th in the state. This is structured just like our actual congress but as sad as it is we probably get a lot more done than the actual congress. State is coming up and that should be the real test before heading off to the national tournament.
Now that the basics of me are down next time there might be something a little more interesting.  Until next time, stay classy San Diego.

  1. The one thing I admire about your blog is your profile pic: I don't think baseball runs in your veins, I think freedom does. Also, nice cliche at the end.

  3. This was extremely sad to read. To think that some people out there are actually Pirates fans breaks my heart.
